Dates from the official sources, Vienna time. The university's own information always decides.
In short
The dates at the top of this page come from the calendars of MedUni Vienna and the Medical University of Innsbruck and are recalculated every time you open it. Each exam has its own registration route: for the SIP, nostrification candidates register through the student office (Studienabteilung); for Rezeptierkunde and Gerichtsmedizin, with a form sent from their muw account; for the Stichprobentest, at the university where you filed your application. For the SIP and Rezeptierkunde the official texts rule out late registration, so the registration window matters as much as the exam day.
SIP4a and SIP5a
SIP4a and SIP5a are exams of the Vienna degree programme; as a nostrification candidate you register for the parts your Bescheid prescribes. MedUni Vienna publishes the SIP sittings in its exam calendar (Prüfungskalender), with several sittings a year. Many sittings are marked “MC oder KAF” (multiple choice or KAF, a different question format): the format is fixed separately for each sitting.
You do not register yourself in Med.Campus. Instead you e-mail the Studienabteilung from your student account within the registration window, and a confirmation e-mail should follow. You cannot be registered for the same exam on two dates at once.
Rezeptierkunde and Gerichtsmedizin (forensic medicine)
For both exams, MedUni Vienna announces exam weeks each semester, each week with its own registration window. According to the semester calendar, registration closes on a Tuesday at 12 noon.
You register by sending the exam's form as a scan or photo, by e-mail and only from your muw account: for Gerichtsmedizin to studref-gerichtsmedizin@meduniwien.ac.at, for Rezeptierkunde to nostrifikationspruefungsanmeldungen@meduniwien.ac.at. For data-protection reasons, mails from any other address are not accepted.
Stichprobentest: two publishers, two deadlines
Two universities publish deadlines for the same Stichprobentest: the MedUni Vienna Merkblatt gives a filing deadline (Einreichungsfrist), and the Medical University of Innsbruck's dates PDF gives a registration deadline (Anmeldefrist). For some sittings the two dates differ. The box at the top shows both, each with its publisher. Confirm your deadline with the university where you filed your application.
How not to miss a deadline
Once your sitting is fixed, MedPrüf's study plan counts the weeks to that official sitting and spreads the topics of your question bank across them. You do not need an account for it.
- Write down when the registration window opens and closes for your exam, not only the exam day.
- Do not leave it to the last day: for the SIP and Rezeptierkunde, late registration is explicitly ruled out.
- For Rezeptierkunde and Gerichtsmedizin, send from your muw account only.
- After registering for the SIP, check that the confirmation e-mail has arrived. If it has not, contact the Studienabteilung while the window is still open.
German terms on the official date pages
The calendars and forms linked here are in German. These words tell you what a date means:
- Prüfungskalender: exam calendar
- Anmeldezeitraum, Anmeldefrist: registration window, registration deadline
- Einreichungsfrist: filing deadline
- Nachmeldung, nachträgliche Anmeldung: late registration, which the SIP calendar and the Rezeptierkunde announcement rule out
- Studienabteilung: the university's student office
- muw account: your MedUni Vienna account; registrations for Rezeptierkunde and Gerichtsmedizin must come from it
Your next step
Pick your official sitting and your study hours a week. The study plan spreads the topics of your question bank over the weeks up to the exam, no account needed.

Can I still register after the deadline?
No. The SIP exam calendar says late registrations cannot be made for any reason, and the Rezeptierkunde announcement rules out late registration for legal reasons.
Why does the Stichprobentest have two different deadlines?
Because two universities publish them: MedUni Vienna a filing deadline in its Merkblatt, the Medical University of Innsbruck a registration deadline in its dates PDF. Confirm yours with the university where you applied.
Which e-mail address do I use to register for Rezeptierkunde and Gerichtsmedizin?
Your muw account. For data-protection reasons MedUni Vienna accepts only mails sent from that account.
