The answer
A SIP question is eliminated when it proves unanswerable because of technical flaws or misleading wording; it then counts as not asked. Eliminated questions are not scored, equally for all candidates, and the maximum reachable score falls accordingly. The 60 percent thresholds refer to the scored questions only.
How a question is eliminated
After the exam, questions that stand out are reviewed again as part of quality assurance, with an expert opinion. If a question proves unanswerable, it is eliminated. It can also happen that no question is eliminated at a sitting.
How to read the results notice
The results notice (Ergebnisaushang) lists, per block or tertial, which questions were eliminated. Its table shows per block the scored questions (Max) and the points needed to pass (Limit).
For the SIP4a the pass mark is 60 percent of the scored questions, per block and for the whole exam. Rounding makes the point limits differ from the exact percentage; the effective limits are in each results notice.
If you repeat single blocks or tertials, earlier points are rescaled to the current maximum, because the number of eliminated questions differs between sittings.
Personal feedback and inspection
For MC exams, the feedback booklet, the scanned answer sheet and the scan report are available at m3e.meduniwien.ac.at/feedback no later than 1 week after results are published, with your MUW StudID. The feedback booklet marks each question as answered correctly or incorrectly.
Only the marks on the answer sheet count for grading; the question booklet does not. Inspection is possible within 6 months of the exam date, for KAF exams only after registering for it.
Eliminated questions in the personal feedback booklet
Not officially confirmed
None of the official sources checked describes how an eliminated question appears in the personal feedback booklet, whether it is left out or marked. According to the results notice, the published booklet contains all scored questions. Which questions were eliminated is reliably listed in the results notice.
Free sample
Practise with the free sample: 150 curated practice questions per question bank, no card needed. Explanations can be translated into your language (machine translated, with a daily limit for free accounts). They are not official exam questions.

Does anyone get points for an eliminated question?
No. An eliminated question counts as not asked and is not scored, equally for all candidates. The maximum reachable score falls instead.
Where can I see which questions were eliminated?
In the MedUni Vienna results notice, per block or tertial. How such a question appears in your personal feedback booklet is not officially confirmed.
Does what I marked in the question booklet count?
No. Only the marks on the answer sheet count for grading.
Why do I get the whole question booklet at the SIP4a?
Even if only some SIP4a parts are prescribed to you, you receive the whole question booklet and the complete answer sheet. You answer only your prescribed parts; the time is shortened pro rata.
